This year at Calvary we are focused on discipleship, or being a follower of Jesus. And following Jesus is a growing experience. We aren’t called to sit back and coast, we are called to keep on taking new steps of faith, and there are all sorts of influences that try to work against us moving forward and growing in our faith. So, it is important that we have a strong foundation, and that we stay rooted and grounded. It is when we remain rooted in Jesus that we can keep on growing in our faith, and growing into the people God created us to be! The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to a group of church people named the Colossians, who were being tempted and influenced to abandon their foundation in Jesus. Paul wants to encourage and teach them (and us!) to remain ROOTED and GROWING in Jesus!
